UFC 196 McGregor vs. Diaz

On March 5, 2016 Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz squared off to do battle.

I was really hoping for McGregor to kick the crap out of Nate Diaz. Well Patriots it started out that way with Conor attacking and pummeling Nate Diaz’s ugly mug. Conor seems to have run out of gas right after the first round. He had made hamburger meat out of Diaz’s face but Conor fizzled very quickly. He seemed like he was picking Diaz apart then he fell apart.
Early in the second round a visibly tired Conor showed up and shortly after a combination Conor was taken to the ground and quickly submitted at 1:07 in the second round by a rear naked choke. Let’s analyze this fight for a minute, Conor McGregor tried to jump two weight divisions and take on a very good fighter(although I can’t stand his attitude) and thought perhaps arrogantly, that he could take apart a larger fighter ,like he had during his 15 fight winning streak. Physics intervened and as I have surmised during life lessons, that if two fighters are of similar skill levels the larger fighter will win in most cases. Of course there are exceptions but it is a basic rule of thumb.
Even though I think McGregor is a superior fighter, that 20 pound weight differential may have been too much of a hill to ascend. Diaz capitalized on McGregor’s fatigue and came in for the Caput De Grace with the rear naked choke. Well following the fight Joe Rogan came in to interview Diaz and he showed his true colors. Nate Diaz basically has a 2 word vocabulary F--- YOU and can’t quite get past the state of Neanderthal man!! That is the reason I wanted Conor McGregor to kick his butt, perhaps if he puts on 10-20 pounds of muscle mass and works on his stamina issues he will do just that, we can always hope. Good Day Fight Fans and Patriots.
