Ronda Rousey MMA Women’s Champ, Didn’t Cry
Anybody that knows anything about the MMA (mixed martial arts) or the UFC (ultimate fighting championships), knows Ronda Rousey. If you are not familiar, let me tell you a bit. She is the premier women’s champion bantamweight division in the world. She is one tough woman and has been making mincemeat out of basically all that were brave enough to meet her in the octagon.
Her most recent fight was in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil where she was fighting an undefeated spitfire namely Bethe Correia. Well during the weigh in, Bethe was trying to antagonize Ronda and kept repeating the phrase “Don’t Cry”, which I understand is Bethe’s attempt at Psy-Ops. But Bethe went way beyond just trash talking when she stated for Ronda “not to kill herself” when she won UFC 190.This horrible reference is to Ronda’s dad who committed suicide when Ronda was only 8 years old. This trash talk is well below the belt and no wonder Ronda was indeed out for blood, who can blame her?
Ronda was slightly more than pissed off and stated that she wanted to defeat Correia in the most devastating fashion possible (MMA Junkie). Well patriots she certainly did that in a 34second knockout in the first round. After the knockout Ronda went up to the unconscious Bethe and stated (Don’t Cry).
Ronda said she was happy with victory and she had exhibited her diversity of her fight game. Ronda said she was “one step closer to retiring undefeated” (MMA Junkie). This is Ronda’s 3rd fight that she defeated her opponent in less than a minute of the first round. By the way the Minuteman doesn’t just watch women’s sports, these sports events were just the most poignant of recent history. However I am a MMA fan!
