Marco Rubio’s Presidential Announcement
Conservatives (notice I didn’t say Republicans) have an excellent field of candidates to choose from this next presidential election. I’m really excited with the exception of 2 or 3 of these guys (namely Chris Christie and Jeb Bush) we have an outstanding field.
Marco Rubio just recently announced his presidential aspirations in Miami Florida 4/13/15 and what an outstanding speech he gave. I am going to put some of the most cogent excerpts from his speech in this blog.
He started his speech with the statement that America was built by immigrants and exiles, refugees and has become the most free and most prosperous nations in history. (The reason for that is because we historically were unencumbered by Government regulations laws and excessive taxation). Americans are children and grandchildren that refused to accept the circumstances of their birth.
He went on to compliment his parents who were immigrants from Cuba. They had led a fairly lower class to middle class existence as a bartender and a maid. They had achieved the American dream for themselves and their family. Where else in the world could a child come from such a basic existence and possibly become the leader of the free world.
Senator Rubio stated that this country had been defined by an equality of opportunity for each and every one of its citizens. He said that too many of our leaders are stuck in the 20th century (Obama , Hillary Clinton). They are so busy looking backwards they can’t even see the future. Their policies have put us at a distinct disadvantage by taxing and borrowing us into the poor house. (To the tune of 19 trillion dollars). Obama has failed to lead. “When America fails to lead global chaos inevitably follows”. “They ( Democrats) appease our enemies, they betray our allies and weaken our military”. It is time for America to lead to a new American century.
He said he wanted to reform our tax code, reduce regulation, control our spending, modernize immigration and repeal or replace Obama Care. If you turn the American people loose they will create millions of new jobs.
Senator Rubio, stated that too many doubt whether the American dream is even possible. He says he can reinstitute our faith in government and reinstall the American dream.
The Minuteman simply loved the speech. It is just nice to hear a “Real” American that loves and respects this country. I am so sick of the liberals and the lamebrain media that do nothing but complain about the greatest country in the history of the world, and by God we want that country back! I took a little bit of lee-way with some of Marco Rubio's quotes but only to make it flow a little better with the blog. None of the substance of his speech was compromised. Once again what a wonderful speech!!!!!!
Excellent article. I’m a fan of Rubio, but didn’t he start to lean more leniently towards the left when it came to the immigration issue?
There are a few things of concern with Rubio, the main being immigration, but do you foresee him being a real contender? I mean, I could see that him being from Florida having a HUGE play factor, but I’m just scared we’re going to get another moderate in the White House. That is the last thing we need!
I’m not fully against Rubio; I just feel that if he’s slack on one very critical issue such as giving amnesty to illegal immigrants(who, let’s be honest, don’t just always come over here to work hard, pay taxes, and vote to preserve the Constitution)- will he not lean left on other more critical issues?
Just my thoughts. What are yours?
